Who We Are
We are Sandwell Leisure Trust’s Sports Development and Physical Activity team. We work to develop sport and physical activity within the borough. Our main aim is to get you active!
Lisa Rashid, Sports Development & Physical Activity Team Manager (Interim)
Lisa Rashid heads up the team and makes sure that SLT is not only meeting, but exceeding its goals and targets for increasing physical activity and participation in Sandwell. Lisa has worked within Sports Development for over 10 years in both educational and community environments.
Mick Tuohy, Sports Development Officer
Mick has been developing football activities in Sandwell for as long as most of us can remember! He is a qualified FA tutor and is responsible for the running of the Sandwell Minor League for U8s – U16s which has been running for 10-years. Mick also supports football development opportunities across Sandwell including working with schools, leisure centres and community organisations. What Mick doesn’t know about football isn’t worth knowing!
Howard Court, Sports Development Officer
Our athletics guru has outstanding levels of knowledge and experience from grass roots to elite performance. Howard oversees the Sports Development team’s volunteering programme and manages the relationship with Streetgames Young Volunteers programme. Howard’s busy schedule includes the delivery of a variety of events including the indoor athletics league, outdoor championships and minibus league, cross country championships and level 3 school games athletics competition. You will not meet anyone more passionate about his trade than Howard.
Mandy Williams, Sports Development Officer
Mandy is passionate about sport. Her mission is to support development opportunities across a wide range of sports including badminton, hockey, boccia, rounders and netball to name a few. She is the go-to officer for our casual coaching team who are out delivering these fantastic activities. Mandy also supports in keeping the team up to date with their health and safety procedures and working practices. As well as all this, she is our school delivery link officer, working with schools to provide PPA, lunchtime, after-school and behaviour programme offers.
Jasmine Heir, Physical Activity Development Officer
Jasmine has a wealth of knowledge around health and physical activity. She develops physical activity opportunities within the local community particularly targeting those hard to engage groups. She works with local community organisations, clubs and NGB’s to increase participation within Sandwell.
Vina Fatania, Physical Activity Development Officer
Vina develops projects within the local community in response to local need. This includes working with local people to establish successful fitness classes in community venues. She sets up sessions to cater for any age right from new-borns such as mum and baby yoga to older peoples activity clubs.
Natalie Belfield, Physical Activity Development Officer
Natalie works within the local community developing new opportunities to engage those not currently engaged within sport and physical activity. She is keen on developing family based activities where adults and children can participate together. Natalie is also a group fitness instructor delivering several sessions a week across our centres.
