Sandwell Leisure Trust prides itself on its partnerships. We work with key agencies to engage the local community, promote services, develop activities and enhance local provision. All this with an overall aim to increase participation in sport and physical activity.
Our partnership with Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is a key part of our success. We work together to maximise the use of available resources to improve the lives and wellbeing of Sandwell’s residents.
SLT addresses social inclusion by supporting and hosting community engagement events and free activities for 'Looked After Children' and carers. We also work with health services to deliver a ‘Physical Activity Referral Scheme’ otherwise known as exercise on prescription.
Our other partners include sport and leisure industry sector governing bodies, external funders such as Sport England, local authority departments, education, schools and colleges, local community and voluntary sector organisations.
SLT also works in partnership throughout the Midlands region through Black Country Be-Active to support with strategic research and bids to generate exetrnal funding. SLT is also a member of SPORTA, (sport and leisure trusts association) this national organisation represents social enterprises in the sport, leisure and culture market.
