Wednesbury Leisure Centre pump up the power

The solar panels at Wednesbury Leisure Centre have been measured as producing 26,773 kilowatt hours over the past year.

Measurements were taken between November 2017 and November 2018 and it was found that this electricity would;

·         Power 6.8 average homes for one year

·         Allow an electric car to travel over 6.5 times around the circumference of the earth at the equator.

This summer’s heatwave has been attributed to solar power rises which has possibly helped Wednesbury achieve such great energy production. To find out more about how SLT is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and impact on the environment visit here.
