SLT getting behind the Purple Mile

SLT are supporting the fantastic the Kaleidoscope Plus Group about a new campaign ‘THE PURPLE MILE’ that they are running to raise awareness of Suicide Prevention Day on Tuesday 10th September.

This local Sandwell charity are aiming this campaign at workplaces and schools to get involved to raise money for suicide prevention services delivered by #TeamKPG.

The aim for the day is to get as many people to:

1) Wear the colour purple (which symbolises ‘being there for one another’)

2) Pledge to walk a mile with one another (to get some fresh air and to connect with others)

3) Share some photos (for us to be able to share your involvement on our social media channels)

4) Donate £1 each to support #TeamKPG (all monies raised will go towards our suicide prevention and bereavement services for those affected by suicide)

Dave Pickard, Corporate Business Development & Research Manager commented ‘From the latest statistics released on number of suicides, we know that they have risen in 2018 compared to previous years which is devastating. The Purple Mile aims to raise awareness of World Suicide Prevention Day and to get as many people involved as possible to wear the colour purple, to engage in some physical activity and to donate a £1 to The Kaleidoscope Plus Group. We want to make sure that we are doing as much as we possibly can, and without fundraising we can’t offer as much as we’d like.

We are so grateful that SLT have really got behind us on this campaign, and it’s great to see how so many of their customers have got behind it. Thank you so much to you all.
