SLT awarded RoSPA Order of Distinction (for 17 consecutive Golds)

Sandwell Leisure Trust has
been awarded the highest possible accolade in the internationally-renowned
Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) 2022 Health and Safety
Awards.
SLT landed the coveted Order of Distinction (for
17 consecutive Golds) and is the first Leisure Operator nationwide to
achieve this distinction.
Mark Wildman, Business & Commercial Manager
from the Leadership Team for Sandwell Leisure Trust, says: “This is truly fantastic
news and testament to the team’s consistent efforts over the past year.
Maintaining the highest standards of health and safety continues to be an
absolute priority for SLT. This achievement again underlines the expertise and
hard work of all our teams to provide a safe environment for staff, customers
and visitors across all the sport, leisure and swimming facilities managed by SLT
in partnership with Sandwell Council.”
Penny Hackett, Vice Chair of The Trust’s Board,
adds: “The RoSPA Award is the most highly-respected health and safety
accolade globally, so we’re extremely honoured and proud. SLT was initially the
first Leisure Trust to achieve the RoSPA Gold Award - and to retain the award
over 17 consecutive years demonstrates the consistent high standards achieved
by our staff working at Sandwell’s facilities.”
The RoSPA Awards not only focus on commitment to
accident and ill-health prevention, but occupational health and safety
management systems, including practices like leadership and workforce
involvement. It receives entries from organisations around the world and is also the longest-running
industry awards scheme in the UK.
