Sandwell Volleyball Tournament 2011 a Success!

Sandwell Volleyball Tournament 2011 a Success!

Even without a win, teams from Smethwick and Wood Green put in a great effort against teams from around Birmingham and the Black Country.

A total of 27 teams took part in the event which was run by a team of volunteers supported by Sandwell Leisure Trust, Sandwell Council’s Parks and Open Spaces team, and Volleyball England.

The event, which featured both men’s and mixed divisions, offered the opportunity for players to play at an appropriate level for their ability and to enjoy a fun but competitive day.

The mixed division was eventually won by South Birmingham, whilst Maiwand came out on top in the men’s event.

Paul Slater, Chief Executive Officer from Sandwell Leisure Trust said: “It was great to see so many people playing volleyball and enjoying everything that Sandwell Valley has to offer.

“The Trust is extremely proud to be part of the team of volunteers and partner organisations who deliver such an enjoyable event each year”.
