Sandwell Leisure Trust (SLT), in partnership with Sandwell Council, are thrilled to announce an extensive redevelopment of our gym facility at Portway Lifestyle Centre.

SLT are dedicated to transforming your fitness journey with state-of-the-art facilities and a brilliant member experience. This exciting development underscores our commitment to innovation in fitness, inclusivity, an enhanced member experience, community engagement, and health and wellness.

The redevelopment at Portway Lifestyle Centre is the fourth redevelopment announced by the Trust in the last 18 months. With a commitment to an exceptional member experience improvements have been made to the member experience at Tipton Leisure Centre and a full gym refurbishment at Wednesbury Leisure Centre. As well as the transformational work at Sandwell Aquatics Centre, taking the iconic Commonwealth Games Diving facility into a community-focused centre to support and inspire the local community.

Members at Portway Lifestyle Centre will be able to discover the latest in fitness technology with our brand-new, state-of-the-art equipment. But this is not just new equipment, the entire space is being redeveloped to provide an exceptional space for our members to enjoy. There will be new flooring, lighting and a full interior redecoration.

The redevelopment includes EGYM's innovative fitness technology focuses on tackling health inequalities, with a specific focus on reducing diabetes and preventing falls.

EGYM's AI-powered platform offers a unique solution to these challenges. These innovations are designed to provide an engaging, effective, and enjoyable workout experience for all our members.

Portway Lifestyle Centre is an exciting leisure facility for Sandwell, a vibrant and unique sports, health and wellbeing centre for the whole community and a centre of excellence for people with disabilities. 

SLT are continuing to create a member-centric environment designed for your comfort and convenience and the redevelopment is set for completion by the end of 2024.
