Portway Plodders raise thousands for Cancer Research UK

A group of Portway Lifestyle Centre members tackled Pretty
Muddy last weekend and have raised an amazing £4,779 for Cancer Research UK.
The Portway Plodders formed this summer and trained together to take on the mud-drenched
5k obstacle course.
On Saturday 28th September the team ran the race
together, which included the 5k run plus obstacles such as commando nets,
climbing frames and a mud pit. The Portway Plodders worked hard in both running
the race and fundraising with 42 members collecting sponsorships.
Site Fitness Coordinator Natasha said “I’m so proud to be
see so many members come together for such an important and amazing cause. I’m
so proud to be apart of such an amazing tribe who ran the 5km course supporting
one another, showing tremendous teamwork, whilst having fun! I’m hoping this is
just the first of many ‘fun runs’ for Team Portway! Well done guys.”
The money raised by the group will go towards funding the
work Cancer Research UK do which includes the prevention, diagnosis and
treatment of cancer. There’s still time to donate to the Portway Plodders at: https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/team/portway-plodders?fbclid=IwAR2-GchFXs-FQVmlfoaGyldaWyBhnGHJW_mvYFATtZ42e0Nsirjm5TuFTN4
