How to stick to your New Years Fitness resolutions
New year new you? Here are some tips to keep you motivated and ensure that you stick to your new years health & fitness resolutions.
Keep it simple and realistic
Setting goals is great but make sure they are realistic and attainable. Don’t try to exercise or restrict your diet too much or you will be more likely to fail. Ease into a new workout or diet plan and don’t feel put down if your goal is not as big as others.
Create a plan
Outline your goals and how you will reach them. Schedule in your workouts or start writing in a meal planner journal or app.
Share your resolution
Tell people about your new resolution, you will feel more obliged to reach your goal if people know about it and you have the support of those around you. This may also help you find a gym buddy who shares the same resolution.
Track your progress
Seeing the progress of your resolution will motivate you even more when you know your new plan is working. You could note down your weight loss or write down your personal bests.
Everyone has their bad days
You shouldn’t beat yourself up if you miss a workout or indulge too much. The occasional slip up won’t hinder your progress, giving up will.
