Couch to 5K another great success!

The team at Tipton Sports Academy welcomed over 100 new participants to the latest Couch to 5k programme this month.
The nine week running programme is designed specifically for beginners and anyone who wants to take up running.
Now in its 4th year and SLT has seen over 1,500 people participate in the community programme since then.
It is easy to see why it has been such a huge success as there are plenty of benefits from getting into running. For starters, it's an easy way of improving physical health; running regularly will improve the heart and lungs and it can also help with weight loss, especially if combined with a healthy diet.
Taking on the challenge of Couch to 5K can help boost confidence and self-belief, as weekly targets are set and goals achieved throughout the programme. Running regularly can also be a great stress reliever and has even been shown to combat depression.
The benefits of having a safe and enclosed venue with a supportive and welcoming team means the participants will have the best start to a healthier more active lifestyle through this programme.
