Changes to Free Swimming for Under 18’s

From February Half-term (12th to 16th Feb) onwards and during all school holidays, Sandwell Leisure Trust is introducing designated free-swimming sessions for under 18’s. Those wishing to utilise their free swimming membership can do so during these designated free-swimming sessions. Please note that free swimming membership for under 18’s does not include access to regular public or family sessions unless specifically stated as a designated free-swimming session.  These sessions will be highlighted on the swimming timetable and centres will share designated free-swimming sessions on their social channels and via slt-leisure.co.uk

Access to designated free-swimming sessions requires a free swim membership, Sandwell Residents aged 18yrs and under and 60+, existing free swim members will still be able to access as normal or you can register at

We want to ensure that all our customers experience a safe and enjoyable experience and we aim to provide an opportunity for all members to have access to these services. Designated free swimming sessions have been specifically introduced to help support demand and safe usage during busy periods during school holidays. We will actively monitor free swimming sessions to ensure we can deliver a good customer experience and everyone including our staff are treated with respect. Adult supervision of under 18’s is not required at this time but may be re-introduced where necessary to do so.

Adults aged 60 and above can swim for free up until 1pm at any time throughout the year. Free swimming for people aged 60 and over is available at all public swimming sessions which includes: lane swim and adult swim.
