Casey Unitt and Harry Spear become National Tennis Champions at Wimbledon!

Casey Unitt and Harry Spear who train at Tipton Sports Academy are now National Tennis Champions at Wimbledon!

The boys qualified in our own local qualifying event (back in May) at Tipton Sports Academy for the Vodafone – ‘Play Your Way to Wimbledon’ event. This was in the Boys 18 and under doubles category.

They went on to win the regional play off in June, gaining a place in the prestigious National finals which were held on the hallowed turf at Wimbledon (7-11/August).

The dream of Wimbledon glory did not stop there! With the boys winning through the group stages, progressing through the Quarter and Semi-final stages and then winning the Final to become overall champions of the National event!

The boys won a stunning glass trophy each and vouchers to spend in the Wimbledon shop!

All of us at Tipton Sports Academy are so, so proud of their amazing achievement, having seen them play, learn, practice and improve here on our indoor tennis courts!

Also a special mention to Craig Unitt who coaches both of the boys and was there to coach/support them at Wimbledon! Craig has seen previous pupils qualify for the national finals in this event over the years, with many getting to the final. But Casey and Harry are the first ones to actually go all the way and win the whole event! This is an example of the very high standard of coaching Craig and our team of coaches offer and the hard work and hours that our young players put into their tennis.

If you/your child would like to try tennis at Tipton Sports Academy, we have coaching available for all ages and ability levels – from complete beginners to Wimbledon winners! We also offer pay and play on our indoor courts (no membership required for any tennis activity).
