Description

SLT is excited to announce that we are currently looking to appoint, train and develop 6 new committed and enthusiastic Leisure Attendants on an Apprenticeship Programme to work a minimum of 30 hours a week for up to an 18 months period.  Each apprenticeship will be part of an award winning and expanding organisation based at either Smethwick or Langley Swimming Centre, Portway Lifestyle Centre or Tipton, Haden Hill, or Wednesbury Leisure Centre.

 

Being a Leisure Attendant at SLT is an enjoyable and rewarding career, which involves lifeguarding, supervising and looking after customers, maintaining cleanliness of the pool and its surroundings and maintaining the health, safety and welfare of everyone enjoying the services. The role also includes the assembly and layout of equipment, handling customer enquiries and requires candidates to have a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

 

So what do I need to do to become a Leisure Attendant with Sandwell Leisure Trust?

 

To be able to train and join the Leisure Attendant Apprenticeship Programme you will need to-

  • Complete an online application form

  • If, shortlisted, attend an interview

  • Be able to pass an SLT swimming test

  • Provide us with 2 satisfactory references

  • Allow us to carry out a medical and a full DBS check

  • Attend a pool lifeguard course and successfully pass all assessments.

     

In addition to the above technical elements, candidates will also be expected to study towards a Level 2 Leisure qualification, IQA Level 2 Award in Pool Lifeguarding, a Swim England Level 2 in Teaching Swimming or A STA level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming, a Level 2 Gym or Fitness qualification and Level 3 certificate in First aid
