3G 'third generation' pitches offer as near to a grass surface experience as you can get, with true bounce. The full pitch measures 110 metres x 55 metres and meets the highest league specifications.

 

The pitch can be also split into three sections to enable local teams to hire it for training and small games and is also floodlit to enable all round year use. The purpose built all-weather pitch has the very latest rubber-crumb artificial grass on as used by the top European clubs.

Until recently football had been played largely on sand-filled, multi-use games surfaces. These non-dedicated surfaces have had a mixed reception from users with stories of hard bounces and fast ball roll. Following the launch of UEFA's Artificial Turf Manual in October 2002, the use of third generation (long pile) soccer grass has dramatically increased, both on a professional and amateur basis. A number of top flight professional clubs in Europe are already using them as their first team match pitches and more recently, Dunfermline Athletic Football Club played their first game on their newly installed pitch. The pitch can support any fitness training, rugby and recreational hockey.
