Portway Lifestyle Centre,
Oldbury
Portway Lifestyle Centre is an exciting new leisure facility for Sandwell bringing together sport, physical activity and health.
Facilities include a sports hall, a
hydrotherapy pool, a
gym and weight area, a dance studio, a
climbing wall, outdoor 3G football pitch, life-trail outdoor exercise area, multi-purpose activity room, meeting rooms, sensory room, cafeteria as well as a purpose-built GP surgery, Portway Family Practice. It will be open to everyone and will be a centre of excellence for people with disabilities.
The centre is currently due for completion in late Autumn 2013.
Sandwell Council, in partnership with Sandwell Leisure Trust, Sandwell Primary Care Trust, Sandwell Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) Company and Sport England are working in partnership to deliver this new health, well being, sport and leisure facility.
The Sandwell LIFT Company is a public private partnership set up to modernise health, social care and community premises across Sandwell. This project aims to provide choice and increase opportunities, improving health and social well being in the Sandwell community.
