Sandwell Leisure Trust welcomes self motivated, forward thinking people with an interest in sport, health, fitness or customer service to join its board. We are looking for people with business experience and ambition to drive our expansion. ‘Board member’ is a voluntary position, but out of pocket expenses will be paid.
Sandwell Leisure Trust’s impressive portfolio includes nine sport and leisure centres, a golf course and a sports development team. Its core business areas include sport and leisure, health and fitness, swimming and swimming instruction, leisure pass memberships, out of school activities and holiday camps for young people, function facilities, club activities and training and development. The trust also delivers outreach sports and health and fitness services to the wider Sandwell community.
The trust partners many national and local initiatives and projects which develop opportunities for ordinary people to participate in physical activity.
The trust is both a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. It receives an annual management fee from Sandwell Council in return for achieving certain performance indicators. The trust’s key investment priorities include building improvements, marketing and staff development.
The trust maintains a range of quality standards, awards and accreditations - including the Investor in People Award, the RoSPA gold award for Health & Safety and the nationally recognised QUEST accreditation for leisure centre quality.
Sandwell Leisure Trust’s aim is ‘Creating an Active Sandwell’. We carefully balance our commercial aspirations with our social ethos to ensure we deliver quality sport and leisure services.
