Pool Lifeguard, poolside helper and swimming teacher courses are available at Smethwick and Langley Swimming Centres…
The STA Level 2 Certifcate in Teaching Swimming - Beginners STC(B) course will be held at Smethwick Swimming Centre on Tuesday evenings 5pm – 9pm.
The course runs from 7 February – 27 March 2012 and 15 May - 10 July. The course costs £209 per person.
The STA Level 2 Certificate: National Rescue Standard – Pool Lifeguard NaRS (PL) course will be held at Langley Swimming Centre on Monday evenings 5 – 9pm.
The course runs from 9 January – 29 March 2012 and 16 April - 16 July 2012. The course costs £190 (prices may change in April 2012).
Holders of a NaRS(PL) are able to act as a poolside lifesaver trained in pool rescue, CPR techniques and first aid competent to deal with poolside emergencies. For more information download the

The course runs from 10 January - 1 February 2012 and 17 April - 8 May 2012. The course costs £80 per person (prices may change in April 2012).
